Quick List: Yes, There’s More Harry Potter Stuff

We have an Instagram series featuring small collections within a genre. Quick Lists look a little closer.

You were worried when they finished the movies that Harry Potter was done. J.K. Rowling keeps writing, and they keep filming: crisis averted.

J.K. Rowling’s Wizarding World of Movie Magic Volume 1: Extraordinary People and Fascinating Places from Jody Revenson – This is the first in a series that covers various aspects of all the films. Volume 2 Curious Creatures comes out in March. These have a few interactive elements that make them better than most movie tie-ins.

Fantastic Beasts Fashion Sketchbook – Get that kid of yours out of the passive and into the active, as they sketch, color and design their way thru Fantastic Beasts. Back in the day, everyone learned how to sketch. It’s not only about creativity, it’s about learning how to observe and visualize.

Fantastic Beasts: The Original Screenplay – Guess what this is? Has a very short glossary of film terms, so don’t be intimidated if you’ve never read a screenplay before. Rowling actually wrote this screenplay, her first.

Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them: A Book of 20 Postcards to Color – Hey, you want your kid to write thank you notes for gifts? Here ya go…. “Color this one for Aunt Sachiko. This one is for Cousin Steve,” and so on.

Harry Potter Coloring Book – For my money, I’d rather learn how to sketch (working on it), but some folks really love this coloring thing. Well, go for it.

Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets: Illustrated Edition – illustrated by Jim Kay, who also did A Monster Calls – I know they’ve read it, but this one is illustrated. They only have the first two books so far, and they are really nice – take a peek.
