Quick Lists are based on a series you’ll see on our Instagram feed. This is the version with words.
The Taco (and its chubby cousin The Burrito) are to LA what Casserole is to the Midwest, Philly Cheese Steak is to Philly and Clam Chowder is to Boston – AND BETTER THAN ALL THREE COMBINED. (And yeah, I know tacos are Mexican, but everything here is from somewhere else, even the palm trees – what’s your point?)
Death By Burrito, The Cookbook: Mexican Street Food to Die For from Shay Ola – This is Mexican food from London. Wha….?! I know, right Angelenos? It looks pretty fancy, and pretty tasty. It just… feels weird.
The Taco Cleanse: The Tortilla-Based Diet Proven to Change Your Life – I know it sounds ridiculous, and I was all prepared to make fun of this one, but you should see the reviews. A lot of vegan stuff in here, and folks seem to love it.
Tacos: Recipes and Provocations by Alex Stupak and Jordana Rothman – This starts with making tortillas and salsas and builds from there.
Tacopedia from Deborah Holtz, Juan Carlos Mena and René Redzepi (3 authors, geez) – This beast has 100 recipes, plus interviews, maps – It’s got all things taco, it’s… well, it’s a tacopedia.
Tacolicious: Festive Recipes for Tacos, Snacks, Cocktails and More by Sara Deseran and 3 other people (How do 4 people write a book? That must be chaos.) – From the famous Bay Area restaurant, this one is all-purpose.
